The Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education will hold consecutive public hearings on Monday, August 29, 2022, commencing at 9:00 a.m. CDT in the conference room of its office at 140 N. 8th St., Suite 300, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
At its May 20, 2022, meeting at Wayne State College, the Coordinating Commission officially adopted a goal that 70% of Nebraskans aged 25 to 34 will have a degree, certificate, diploma, or other postsecondary or industry-recognized credential with economic value by 2030. The goal was established by the Nebraska Legislature in LR 335, which was co-sponsored by all members of the Education Committee.
On March 10, the Coordinating Commission reviewed and approved the 2022 Nebraska Higher Education Progress Report, which includes a wide variety of comparative measures over the past decade to monitor and evaluate progress toward achieving three priorities for Nebraska's postsecondary education system:
Governor Pete Ricketts has appointed Dr. Dennis Headrick to the Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education representing District 1, which encompasses all of Lancaster County.
