The Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education is currently undertaking a review of Nebraska’s Comprehensive Statewide Plan for Postsecondary Education and seeking input on proposed revisions. The Commission began the review with chapter one, which assesses the postsecondary educational needs of the state, states the shared values and beliefs underlying the plan, and lays out major statewide goals.
The Coordinating Commission recently published the 2016 Nebraska Higher Education Progress Report, which provides comparative statistics to monitor and evaluate progress toward achieving three priorities for Nebraska's postsecondary education system.

Twenty-two Nebraska colleges and universities have joined a national reciprocity agreement that streamlines the process for institutions to offer distance learning courses to out-of-state students. CCPE is leading the state's efforts as part of this agreement.
