Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - The FAFSA is a free U.S. government form used to determine a student's eligibility for federal financial aid, including grants, work-study programs, and loans for college or career school. It must be submitted annually on the official Federal Student Aid site to access funds from federal, state, and institutional sources.
For College Students
Nebraska Opportunity Grant (NOG) - provides financial aid to students who are residents
of Nebraska, have not earned a bachelor’s, graduate or professional degree, have high financial need, and who are attending eligible Nebraska colleges and universities to earn a degree or credential.
Community College Gap Assistance (Gap) - Eligible students must have a family income at or below 250 percent of federal poverty guidelines and enroll in an eligible program. Student grants can be used for tuition, direct training costs, required books and equipment, and fees, including those for industry testing services and background check services.
Door to College Scholarship Program (DTC) - Provides up to $5,000 per year toward the educational expenses of undergraduate students enrolled at Nebraska postsecondary educational institutions who graduated high school from a Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center (YRTC).
NE Career Scholarship at Community Colleges - Provides renewable scholarships of up to $15,000 per year for tuition, fees, required tools and equipment (including books), room, and board to students pursuing degrees in programs of study leading to high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers.
NE Career Scholarship at Private Colleges - Provides renewable scholarships of up to $10,000 per year for tuition, fees, required tools and equipment (including books), room, and board to students pursuing degrees in programs of study leading to high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers.
For K-12 Teachers
Attracting Excellence to Teaching - Provides forgivable loans to eligible students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate teacher education program at an eligible Nebraska institution working towards their initial certificate to teach in Nebraska.
Attracting Excellence to Teaching - Student Teaching - Provides a one-time forgivable loan to eligible students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate teacher education program at an eligible Nebraska institution working towards their initial certificates to teach in Nebraska during their student teaching semester.
Enhancing Excellence in Teaching - Provides forgivable loans to Nebraska teachers enrolled in an eligible graduate program at an eligible Nebraska institution.
Career-Readiness and Dual-Credit Education - Provides grants for tuition and fees for teachers who are enrolled in graduate course work necessary to meet postsecondary institution requirements to teach college-level courses (dual credit).
For High School Students
Access College Early (ACE) - Pays tuition and mandatory fees for qualified, low-income high school students to enroll in college courses from Nebraska colleges or universities, either through dual-enrollment or early enrollment agreements with these institutions.
