The Coordinating Commission will meet this Thursday, July 21, at St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m., in the seminary's lecture hall. It's a full agenda for the commission. Items for consideration will include:
- A proposal from an out-of-state institution, Sioux Falls Seminary, to offer programs in Nebraska;
- Proposals for nine new academic programs - four from University of Nebraska Medical Center, one from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, three from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and one from Northeast Community College;
- A proposal for a new organizational unit, the University of Nebraska's Buffett Early Childhood Institute; and
- A revenue bond proposal from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which would pay for the construction of two new residence halls at a cost of $73.4 million.
