Nebraska's Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education

Hill named to national leadership position

Coordinating Commission Executive Director Marshall Hill has been named chair-elect of the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO), the national organization that serves statewide higher-education coordinating and governing boards.

Hill has worked in higher education for more than 40 years, including the last five in his current position. Prior to joining Nebraska's Coordinating Commission, Hill was assistant commissioner for universities and health-related institutions for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He also held positions as the Texas board’s acting assistant commissioner for health affairs, program director (universities division) and associate program director (universities division).  A faculty member for 17 years, Hill was an associate or assistant professor of music at five institutions, including the University of Southern Mississippi, Iowa State University, and Utah State University.

Hill has served on various committees and in various leadership positions with SHEEO. Currently, Hill sits on the organization's executive committee and its data and information systems committee.
