Nebraska's Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education

Dr. Kathleen Fimple Honored with Outstanding Service Award from the Midwestern Higher Education Compact

Dr. Kathleen Fimple, academic programs officer for the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (CCPE), was acknowledged by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) as a recipient of their Outstanding Service Award on November 14, during the commission’s Annual Commission Meeting, held in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  Fimple was nominated for her leadership on MHEC’s Regional Steering Committee for the Midwestern State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (M-SARA) since 2014. SARA provides a voluntary approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. Nebraska has 29 postsecondary institutions that participate in SARA with an estimated 36,400 students enrolled in exclusively distance education coursework.  Read more.
