The Coordinating Commission recently published the October 2016 issue of Commission Update, a newsletter-style publication focusing on its recent activity and other news relating to Nebraska higher education.
In this issue:
- A new financial aid program for low-income community college students seeking careers in high-need occupations is up and running – and showing early results.
- The Governor recently appointed Gwenn Aspen of Omaha to the Coordinating Commission board. She fills an at-large commissioner vacancy.
- Nebraska’s public postsecondary institutions offered more than 10,000 online courses in 2014-15 – up from just over 3,000 in 2004-05. That’s one finding in the new Delivering Courses Beyond Campus Walls report, produced annually by the Commission.
